Mine sometimes sleep apart too. They don't seem to have staked out particular
territories, though. Just sometimes they are all together in one big family pile,
sometimes Mom is in one corner with some pups and Dad in another with the rest of the
pups, and sometimes Mom or Dad is alone. It's pretty hot here though and I think
sometimes they just don't want the body heat of the others right next to them.
