Hi Amy, My best jumper can spring straight up in the
air to about three inches higher than the top of the
10 gallon tank. I'd say you want to make it at least
24 inches.
Now that my baby is "grownup" I sometimes let them run
in the porta-crib. They crawl up the mesh, but when
they get to the slick material at the top (about six
inches) they slide right down. It is a great
enclosure for them (though I can put my gnawers into
it).
