Bilbo is doing so much better. The 'bump' is not a
bump anymore. It is flat and looks more like a
scabbed over wound now. We are putting the antibiotic
on it twice a day, which he doesn't enjoy, but he is
being very good about leaving it alone after the
treatment. The vet warned us not to let him groom his
belly for at least 10 minutes to keep him from
cleaning off the antibiotic and ingesting it. It
doesn't do his belly any good if he cleans it off and
it doesn't do his gut bacteria any good if he ingests
it. Thankfully, Sam is also leaving it alone. Of
course they both get a treat immediately after the
treatment. Positive reinforcement, treatment=treat.
Poor baby, Daddy scruffs him and Momma holds down his
back feet and tickles his tummy with a q-tip, and then
about twelve hours later they do it again. 8-)
