"Free to good home" announcements are fine on a list
like this, but just a warning that an ad like that in
a newspaper or bulletin board is an open invitation
for animal abuse. People could take the little guys
for snake food, for the housing only, or for other
harmful intensions.
Also, "a free good is too often perceived as
worthless" so they may not get the followup care or
expense.
Hope you do find happy homes for all your gerbils,
before you go.
