On a happier side note, Evon and Quark's pup total is 4. I don't know
if any were still-born/miscarried or not, or if she's just one of
those gerbils that carries the last day like she has 10 pups ready to
pop out. :) They're very tiny, and all dark eyed, dark skinned pups.
I may need to find a home for two of them.... I'll keep everyone
updated.

I'm hoping one of them will be a DEH. *crosses fingers*

That's all for now...

Keep warm! It's awfully cool down here for September. :(

P.S. In my genetic research, I have found it rather curious that an
Argente Golden is supposedly nothing more than a Golden Agouti with
pink eyes...

A*C*E*G*P*
as opposed to
A*CCE*G*pp

Why is this so? I'm sure the fact that they have two dominant Cs as
opposed to any other combination might have something to do with
it.... but how does having pp make the ticking so much lighter, and
the gold color so much more golden?

The same goes for Black VS Lilac.

aaC*E*G*P*
vs
aaCCE*G*pp

What's the significance of the CC paired with the pp? I know the
other C loci are ch and cb, which would turn the "pink eyed black"
into a Dove (aaCchE*G*pp) or a Sapphire (aaCcbE*G*pp).

I just found this rather interesting as I was browsing through. If
anyone has any theories or facts, I'm eager to listen and learn. :)
