HELP, gerbil stuck in labor

Dear List,
I have a real problem with my beloved Raichu, who surprised me by being pregnant at her age of 2 or so years. She is in labor right now and things are not progressing normally.
Is there any way to assist a mother who is stuck in labor? She delivered one healthy pup uneventfully almost 2 hours ago, but since then she keeps trying to push, with no results or relief.
What can I do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
