Tumours are very rare in gerbils, but ovarian cysts are very common. Normally they are harmless unless they grow so large (25mm or more in diameter) that they start to press against nerves etc. Cysts up to twice this size are known without problems (this is the same as humans that have ovarian cyst the size of soccer balls inside them without noticing anything wrong). Have vet look at it. Ask them if it is an ovarian cyst. A hysterectomy may be necessary if it is causing problems. -- Julian [EMAIL PROTECTED] National Gerbil Society http://www.gerbils.co.uk/
