Sounds like something has got in the eye and is irritating it. Bath the eye in warm salty water every few hours. The gerbil will hate it. If it does not start to clear up in a couple of days, or there is any sign of puss, you must see a vet because an eye infection can easily spread to the brain and kill the gerbil if untreated. -- Julian [EMAIL PROTECTED] National Gerbil Society http://www.gerbils.co.uk/
