So far, I haven't heard any more clicking in either aquarium. We have
Sue (the dad) and Scratchy (the 9-wk.-old boy) in one aquarium and Nippy
(the mom), Persian (the 9-wk.-old girl), Tiny (the other 9-wk.-old girl),
Tiger (the 4-wk.-old ?), Cinnamon (the 4-wk.-old ?), and Speedy (the 4
wk.-old ?) in the other aquarium. Tiger is a beautiful yellowy brown.
My son has claimed Tiger for his own. Tiger likes to climb all over us
and sit on our shoulders. My daugher has claimed Speedy, even though
I've told her we need to give two gerbils to Michael's friends (who have
been waiting for gerbils since the first litter). My daughter thinks she
might try to convince Michael's friend and his brother to take one of the
9-wk.-old gerbils and one 4-wk.-old gerbil - probably Cinnamon. We'll
see..... If anyone lives in Northern Virginia and has two baby gerbils
they'd like to give away for free, let me know. (Then we could keep
ours. :-))

I am a little concerned about Cinnamon. He has been holding up his front
left paw for a few days. I have no idea how it got hurt. I suspect one
of the other gerbils laid on it or something and that we should just
continue to observe Cinnamon to see if he gets better on his own. Don't
gerbils heal on their own pretty well?

I'm still having no luck switching the gerbils over to the healthier
food, so I just give them both - the block food and some of the mixture.
Although I *think* that the 4-wk.-old gerbils might be eating regular
food now. Hey! I just realized! Isn't it nearly time to check gender
and move the 4-wk.-old boy(s?) into the tank with the dad? I forgot when
it's best to do that to prevent the Mom from mating with the boys.
