I know it is against the GML charter to send general virus alerts here,
but in the three days I have been away Jackie and I have received
approximately 50 copies of the W32/Badtrans@MM virus, many originating
from people I know use this list.

This is a virus/worm that sends out e-mails that simply have "Re:" as
the subject, and contain an attachment which can have various names and
pretend to be a document or a music file. Old versions of Outlook
Express will open this attachment just by you selecting the message.

The payload will send copies of itself to people who you have unread
messages from in your inbox and will install a backdoor which is
designed to allow the virus writer to access your passwords and even
search your computer for credit card numbers and other sensitive
information.

There is more info at :

Please make sure you computer is clean and use an up-to-date anti-virus
tool regularly, and regularly download Microsoft's security patches.
