As I mentioned before, I bought 2 black female sisters, so no problems with them getting along. They are in a 10 gallon tank with 2-3 inches of corn cob bedding. They have a wooden house, a brick for the wheel to sit on (I can't attach it to the cage wall as is), and a tube leading to a little lookout tower attached to the top. I'm feeding them seed mix from the pet store. They love paper towels and cardboard tubes so far, they only live a few hours hehe. From the time I come home from work until I go to bed, they both come out 5 or 6 times for 60-90 seconds each. They run around a bit, nibble on wood or cardboard, eat, and drink. Then they go back into the little wood house I got them. Other than that, they never come out. Once a night I feed each of them a sunflower seed, after having taken them all out of thier seed mix. I put it in the palm of my hand, they run up and grab it, then run back into thier little house and eat it in there (I can hear them crack the shell ;) ). If I just put my hand in the cage for them to sniff, they are interested in it for about 6 seconds, then ignore it completely. If I move my fingers, into thier house they go. Should I be doing more interaction? They don't seem to want much to do with me at this point, they are extremely jumpy. Thier tank is on my computer desk; if I move my hand from my keyboard to the mouse while they are outside thier house, in they go. Am I just being impatient?
