I was given two gerbils a couple of month ago. (I am a preschool
teacher) The male (Little Boy, light gray and white in color) was living
with his brother but, the brother pasted sometime this summer. The female
(Dalmatian, black and white) was introduced to him in September. It was
after that I became their new owners. They lived together quite well for the
whole fall but no babies were ever born.
Well I am sorry to say that the male died a short time ago. I was told
that he was much older that the female.
Well ever sense Little Boy died Dalmatian has become Huge!
I am wondering if she could be pregnant? Her middle is so big, not so much
in the front but out to the sides and much bigger than her hips.
And if she is not pregnant then what is the matter? Could she be over eating
from being sad, or is there some kind of bad gerbil bloat that they can get?
