Actually canadian white spotting is a name used for just spotting in general AFAIk. At least it'd be odd to call a slate spot a CWS seeing as they didn't have slates in Canada until 1997 at the soonest (at least that's when the color arrived in the US and I doubt they would have bothered to import them from overseas if they had them in Canada?) and I know the name is older than that.
