As about 90% of people find it difficult to tell the difference between an Argente Golden (CCpp) and an Argente Cream (Cchpp) it is only to be expected that most people would not recognise a Topaz (Ccbpp) if they saw one. In colour it is almost exactly like an Argente Golden but is slightly lighter. As most photos do not show true colour very well I would not expect a picture to really show the difference unless it was very well lit and the Topaz was alongside an Argente Golden and Argente Cream. Also, other factors can affect he colour of a gerbil so when colours are close, it can sometimes be difficult to be sure whether the differences are due to the main genes, or something else. -- Julian [EMAIL PROTECTED] National Gerbil Society http://www.gerbils.co.uk/
