Hi Lynne,

Welcome to the list.  I doubt that the list would end;
 we need to move to a new server.

One gerbil combination that is a disaster in the
making is multiple females with a male.

You can keep together:
a male-female pair
a female-female pair
a number of males (2-5) that are introduced as pups

Combinations that might work, but are less stable are:
male-male-female
female trio

Pups and young gerbils are fairly adaptable,
especially males. Once gerbils are "clanned" and are
getting advanced in age it is best not to break up and
re-group them.
