Re couples and groupings of gerbils - I've asked a few questions in this new list thing while i've been wondering how to aquire some groups or litters of gerbils.. and finding that the books are woefully inadequate - clearly experience with gerbils' nature/personality/habitat is the best education. I've only had 2 females at a time for 10 years or so.. most of my gerbils live for about 5 years... but before that i had a STRing of litters..or somewhere in my 30 gerbil owning years i got a pair by accident from a pet store.. they all lived but i found homes for all of them when they were very young so i didn't have bad experiences..
