Hey I have a question

I made some homemade chili for lunch with some homemade cornbread and my
male gerbil Linex was out of his cage and he ran over and started to eat my
corn bread. IS it okay for him to eat it? i ask this cause once everyone saw
him do they all wanted some. SO is cornbread okay for gerbils?-Dani
