Oh and I have a question. The pups should be weaned on the 24th day right? >Dusty might have her babies on that day they get weaned or the day before. What >should I do if Dusty has to feed all the babies at once???
Give mom extra nutrition - eg scramble an egg for her. However, until she stops nursing the pups I would leave them in with her. I have two litters born at the same time - January 1st. Litter 1 is Xena's litter she's no longer nursing them and climbs her rope ladder to escape her children. She's taken to hiding on top of her water bottle to avoid them so I removed the pups today. The pups are absolutely freaked by the whole ordeal but we're hanging in there. On the other hand, litter #2 - Tim and Chocolate's litter are still nursing from mom even though they are nearly five weeks old. I'm leaving them with mom and dad for a few more weeks, as mom and dad seem to enjoy having the babies around and mom is showing no signs of pregnancy. Dusty will wean the older pups if necessary herself never fear. Jenn _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
