Our two females do this also (just yesterday in fact). It seems to be connected to their heat cycle. The one who is in heat will "mount" the one who is not. They basically seem to have PMS. They will appear to be having a conflict of personallities for about a day (can't stand to sleep next to each other, more mock fighting etc.) and then (ususally by nighttime) they are best friends again and cuddle up for the evening. I think the longest this behavior has lasted is about a 1.5 days. We can tell when one of our girls is in heat by rubbing along their back. If they are in heat, they will bow their tail/rump up toward your hand. They sometimes like/ respond well to a light back-rub/massage when being held during "that time". I hope this helps.
