Theresa,
First off, don't worry that you asking too many questions because that's
what this group is all about, okay? :o) We have had a few breeding pairs
that we "split up" when we wanted them to stop breeding, and waited a few
weeks before placing the "male pups" with their father. No problem at all
!!! Janet Morrow had told us how a "nurturing father" will always take young
pups (under 10 weeks old) and protect and raise them, even when they aren't
his own :o) Wow !!! was she correct :o) what you will see is amazing
!!! you will get a new respect for the parenting skills of gerbils when you
see how "willingly" the males take them on as their own :o) ...........
Enjoy :o)

Everybody, I'm really sorry about asking so many questions. My female gerbil
should be having more pups in about a week and a half. I have pups already
that are 3 weeks and 2 days. When she has her new babies... I don't want the
male and female to mate again... So I need to remove him. Her two daughters
can help her out w/ the new babies. The male gerbil will be lonely unless I
take the 2 male babies and put them with the father but they need to stay
with the mother at least until 6 weeks. Do I make sense??? What should I do.
Can the father and babies me reintroduced in six weeks or so?? PLEASE help.

Theresa
