Not quite true! :-) A gerbil can have pink eyes if it has two copies of the Himalayan Gene (c[h]). A gerbil that is c[h]c[h] will be white and have a brown or grey tail. It will have pink eyes. You can get a completely white gerbil, that looks like an albino if it is c[h]c[h]pp. In fact, although the p gene is called "Pink-Eyed Dilution" the gerbils it produces have dark red eyes, known as "Ruby". Gerbil with c[h]c[h] have eyes that are a true pink, being significantly lighter than ruby. BTW, this list will be closing in about a month, and most people have already moved to the replacement list at www.topica.com. I suggest everyone posts a message to the following address. You should be able to just click on the link. It does not matter what your message says. mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Julian [EMAIL PROTECTED] National Gerbil Society http://www.gerbils.co.uk/
