I used the default install location and program item name. The installation completed w/o errors. When attempting to start the program I get the error "The procedure entry point freeaddrinfo could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32.dll" The file WS2_32.DLL does exist in the C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 and has a file date of 6/19/2003 This following appears to be a link that would allow this error to be fixed during compilation; I don't claim to understand it. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms737931%28VS.85%29.aspx"; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Stefan Petersen (spetm) Date: 2011-03-02 23:05 Message: The fix will not change any code, therefore "Won't fix". If you're interested in running gerbv on win2k, use the steps outlined below. 1) Go to http://codemagnet.blogspot.com/2007/10/winsock2-replacement.html 2) Download the rar file available from that page available under the "Modified version." link. 3) Extract ws2_32.dll and copy that to <program file>/gerbv-2.5.0/bin/ 4) Use a search engine near you to find a file called gdiplus.dll and copy it to the same place. 5) Run gerbv as usual.
