Why is that bad? All that needs to be internationalized is the "Attribute is null: " bits. I do not suggest we translate the attribute name, as that is intended to be the name of the java attribute for easy javadoc refs.

I think Alex was agreeing with you. i.e. by using Geronimo's NullArgumentException we can put all the i18n in one place rather than embedding it inside application code.
