Having said that, did any of the other Windows users with the download problems happen to have upgraded their MSE around the same time?
Not I. Video downloads worked on Wed. Nothing changed on my PC, and they didn't work on Thursday. That seems to point squarely to a change at the Beeb's end.
For me, downloading flvstreamer 2.1c has fixed the problem, and video downloads are working once again.
