I am also guilty through ignorance of inadvertently breaking threads. I've not used mailing lists before. I read the page about mail etiquette, but could not find any instructions on how to email from the mailing list (some of us are novices).
I opted for daily digests by email. But it says nothing about how to reply to an existing thread.
