thanks I let it run to the end as this sorts of things can overrun . I found that they kill it about 10 mins after its over. The stream ended cleanly and it remuxed okay ! The only risk is I guess if the recording goes over the maximum time iplayer can cope with It's a perfect recording by the way - far better quality than watching it on the red button thank you again for your help.
