Thanks for your reply, and sorry not to have responded earlier - real
life gets in the way sometimes:(
I'm running Windows 8.1 and installed the new version as an Administrator.
I managed to get round the problem by uninstalling it and reverting back
to an older version as I had accumulated so many programs to download
and was running out of time for obtaining them. I haven't yet installed
the new version again as everything seems to be working as it should for
now.
Once I've caught up again, I'll install the new version and see if I get
the same error. If I do I'll post the output as you requested.
Many thanks
Prisca

Unfortunately, when trying to run the PVR I get the following:
If you mean when you launch the Web PVR from the Start menu, then I
don't see that. If you're doing something else when the error
appears, then you need to explain exactly what you're doing. And you
need to tell us what platform and version you're using. I presume
it's some flavour of Windows, but you never know.
Can't find Unicode property definition "a" at get_iplayer.pl line 9394.
Given that location, one possibility is that there is something in one
of your PVR job names that confuses Perl. Open the get_iplayer
console window and run:
get_iplayer --pvr-list
If you have more than 10 PVR jobs, upload the output to Pastebin or
similar and post the link.
