Dear all, I have experienced the same "RTMP_Connect1, handshake failed" error with UnblockUs from outside the UK.
I have reverted to a different dns service (SmartyDNS.com) and can report that currently get_iplayer works again. Many thanks dinkypumpkin for the development and ongoing support!
