This is all very interesting but completely irrelevant to GiP, except perhaps to reinforce the idea that if the BBC take steps to shut down GiP then there are plenty of illegitimate alternatives out there. GiP does not exist to circumvent copyright. If you download a TV/Radio show via GiP then you pay exactly the same for it as if you downloaded it from the BBC directly with iPlayer - which, assuming you are a licence fee payer, is not zero. You can only use GiP from within the UK, exactly as with BBC's iPlayer. It simply provides access to the same content in a different (and to many people, more convenient) way. Conversations like this one which suggest that in some way GiP is in remotely the same category as TPB or Tor are misleading and unhelpful. -- Mark Rogers // More Solutions Ltd (Peterborough Office) // 0844 251 1450 Registered in England (0456 0902) @ 13 Clarke Rd, Milton Keynes, MK1 1LG _______________________________________________ get_iplayer mailing list [email protected] http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/get_iplayer
