I cannot follow your last paragraph which appears contradictory. I did install into /usr/local/bin manually as per wiki and I have sorted out problem now. The only remaining issue which always causes a problem on a new installation is getting AtomicParsley installed and working, especially using pvr and a cron job. Will call for help if needed.
