Hello Alastair!
Pardon me if I misunderstood, but isn't STV (http://www.stv.tv/) a
Scottish version of ITV?
You mention the cache, i.e. GiP's tv.cache - do STV carry BBC programmes
too?
Lady Lairds - Episode 2, BBC One Scotland
(snip)
On going to the BBC website however and checking the schedules I see
this programme does not show on the schedules.
Where exactly did you search for it? If GiP states it was shown on BBC
One Scotland, it is those schedules you should probe (Scottish regional
variation):
Hi Vangelis,
Must have been too late. Yes I mean BBC Scotland and I couldn't see for
looking but I couldn't find the pid.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/programmes/schedules/scotland
And yes, it does appear in
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/programmes/schedules/scotland/2016/03/14
That message produced by GiP is just a generic one (and indeed
misleading if in the UK), which offers one explanation why "No programme
versions" were found.
Since GiP now uses the schedules feeds, some entries in the tv.cache may
correspond to non-downloadable programmes, either because of rights
issues or simply because they have not yet been encoded for iPlayer
distribution.
Your foul was your eagerness to download - when I started typing this
e-mail, a mere navigation to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b073mlfh
said "This programme will be available soon". As I finish this now, the
show is ready!
Happy viewing!
Regards, Vangelis.
So no great conspiracy then. Many thanks.
