One good thing is the windows installer has also
been dissociated from infradead.org, as per #206:

because when the site was down for maintenance
the (mostly) online installer would fail :-(
The "get_iplayer lives!" site at
http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/html/get_iplayer.html
continues to forward users to the (newer)
GitHub pages (repos+wiki), so once more
let me express gratitude to Dave Woodhouse
for taking over Phil Lewis's project in the first place
and for all the services he has provided since then
to GiP users - and will hopefully continue
to provide in the future, including this very list!
