I'd second that, over the weekend I was downloading a fortnight's worth of
Wimbledon on my laptop using 2.95 Win 7 x64 and getting speeds typically of
20-30Mbps, although I noticed there were periods where it dropped to about
3Mbps. I'm on Virgin 200 Mbps here.

Thanks for that. It rules out throttling by
Virgin, and anyway Virgin say they now only throttle if there is too much
uploading. Virgin also say there are no known problems in my area.

The problem with the Windows 10 shortcut has been solved by re-booting. I have tried downloading on a laptop which has v2.94. I downloaded in flashhd at 9.5Mbit/s and about twice that in hlshd, over WiFi. I must have done something to slow this machine down. I have put in a PCI card with 2 SATA and 1 IDE ports. I wouldn't have thought that would affected the built in LAN. I also don't understand why a speed test was reporting 90Mbit/s, which is the normal speed from Virgin. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time.
