There are plenty of places where the BBC archives /are/ on-topic as many people talk about the BBC and British television online. If you prefer to avoid the relevant web forums then the uk.media.tv.misc newsgroup may be a good start. I don't mean to target you specifically -- thank you at least for the "OT:" prefix -- but, please, some of us subscribe to this list to follow get_iplayer stuff specifically.
