A related (if not exact) issue has been recently raised in

That issue refers to TV episodes, but the root cause of its
manifestation may actually be identical to your use case...
The coder has acknowledged this as a bug, to be remedied
in the next bug-fix release of GiP (3.01?), which is
currently in the works/imminent...
In fact, (new) Known Issue #4 has been added to the list,
covering this "bug":

As you can see, it just tells users to do what I had already
advised in this thread, which is (from issue #4):
The workaround is to remove --pid-recursive
from preferences until this is fixed.

Only specify it on the command line
when you are actually performing a recursive download,
not downloading just a single episode.
(which, IMHO, is the sane thing to do, to begin with...)
