I think that's "Joconde", the French name for Mona Lisa. And you
downloaded it from <http://www.tidbits.com/matt>.

The actual Scrolling Canvas example can be downloaded from:
<http://www.tidbits.com/matt/newbookexamples/ch11_Canvases/ scrollingCanvas.hqx>

self.RefreshRect 10,10,50,50 refreshes a small square.
self.RefreshRect 0,0,0,0 refreshes nothing.

Take it out of Matt's program and see what happens. ;)
Same thing happens in Seth's Scrolling Windows example.

That example is from the Matt Neuberg book. I don't have it handy but I
would bet that it is explained in the book somewhere...

Self refers to the Custom Canvas class. Self.Refresh accomplishes the same as self.RefreshRect 0,0,0,0. Don't know why Matt uses that code but it may relate to the fact that it is a RB 3.0 example that actually started life in RB 2.0.
It still works in 2005r4.

Many thanks to everyone - it's amazing how there's almost always *somebody*
who knows these things!

On behalf of all the responders,

You are welcome.
