Yes, Tom Dixon sent me a great example and was super helpful. And Michael Rebar offered some great help too. I was able to get my project working by 2 am the night before school begins and it was needed. I really appreciate these guy's help! > $$$ Well in Bill's case it is purely mercenary since he is Aaron > Ballman's partner in RBLibrary.com. $$$ I think the rblibrary is a good idea. If there are expert answers I don't mind paying - even though I think to myself that articles like "whats new in RB2006" is really something the company should publish and give to all people paying for RB2006 or upgrading. But if its good, I don't mind paying a few bucks. I think there is a bit of a growing documentation problem for RB. RB is now at version 7 (2005 = 6, 2006 = 7) and yet Matt Neuberg's book is frozen at version 2 or 3. The LR accessible from the IDE used to be pretty good, whereas now its not useful much of the time - it feels like a shell that has not been filled in. So how is someone to know how to keep up with the new features? This was my problem. I didn't want to use the deprecated RB database, so I was trying to use the new system, but I could not find a single example of using the new database object. Among the other things Tom said, was the simple comment not to bother with the db object - which made it all work out. One comment about the RBlibrary is that many of the articles are actually reprints of old RBDeveloper articles. There is no indication before you buy that this is the case, but when you download them they RBDeveloper at the top - in fact, they didn't even bother changing the RBD code numbers for the issues, so the folder that downloads has the issue/article number code on it. So in other words, I bought several articles that I already had in RBD. I thought I was getting something more up to date or more thorough. _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives of this list here: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
