Greg - Years ago I made some picts of forms. I had the same problem of pixellation of the characters when I tried to turn some of the text sideways. To solve it I left each letter of the text vertical, but put a carriage return after each letter instead. In other words, the text was not turned sideways at all, but the shape was still vertical with each letter below the previous one. I adjusted the vertical "kerning" by changing the line spacing. The text stayed sharp, not pixellated.
