I don't see why... you can have two mail clients running at the same
time, you just cannot connect to the SMTP server at the same time.
As long as you are not sending email from your regular email client
at the same time as you are testing, you don't have to interrupt your
regular email. Receiving email is usually a different server/
protocol so it is unlikely that you need to worry about it.
The other possibility (and probably a good idea) is to ask your
system admin for a second email account for testing purposes.
