Very likely, the path to the database is not returning normally. It
has happened to me, I needed to do character conversions.
One useful way, that works both on windows and mac (and Linux), is to
just use absolutepath when opening up the database, instead of
shelltypepath.
To add filetypes, just go to the project tab, and add filetype there,
it is on the toolbar, or you can do a right click and add and filetypes.
Enjoy,

It seems that my app will not open a real database when I am

1. Any clues or ideas?
2. In that past this type of thing has been caused by the file type
of the
database file. How do I set or change this file type in code or
using the
finder?
3. I can't find the file types menu - did that go away since 5.5.5?
4. Whats with the new "filetype" data type? How do I use it?
please help. I am getting a bit desparate. Is there an article I
can pay for
even?
