The built-in Run event handler then does some setup, calls DoLongTask, and then does some cleanup. To use LongTask, you put your code in the DoLongTask handler instead of the Run handler, and then call LongTask.Run. It's not completely idiot-proof, since you can still put code in the wrong handler, or call DoLongTask directly instead of calling Run, but as an interim workaround, it does the job.
