However, I find that when Visible is set to false, the buttons will,
indeed, disappear. But when Visible is reset to true, the buttons
WILL NOT REAPPEAR.

Probably a bug in your project; I bet you have buttons overlapping,
such that one is the parent of another. When the parent is set to
invisible, all the child controls are made invisible too, regardless
of their own .Visible settings (and this is a feature).
Either shift your buttons in the IDE so that they don't contain each
other, or set pb.Parent = Nil in some Open event to break the
parentage relationship.
