lsof is close to what I am thinking but seems to miss the heart of
what I am toying with. For example, the lsof command will show me
all of the RSRC files such as flash, realplayer, etc. being used for
Safari. But I want to see what browser windows are open and what is
inside of them. I also want to determine the size and position of
the window.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks so much!

I think that the shell command lsof will list all open files.
Which command lists all open apps ?
Thanks!

top lists all executing processes. This is not quite the same
thing, but perhaps it will do.
