I did mention that this is on Windows, but it actually happens (I believe)
on both Mac and PC.

LastErrorCode is not much help because it only verifies that a file is open
if the program that it is open in is somehow alerting the system that it has
that file open.

This is not the case with all files.  As I said earlier, opening a file in
Photoshop will not cause LastErrorCode to fire.  If a PDF is open in
Acrobat, it does fire.  It also works with Excel.
