Well I am talking about the highlight in the edit field in my program
whenever I put a edit field in the program I am writing that doesn't
have a border it gets a highlight when the control is active

Are you referring to the "Highlight" which shows up when the
control is active? You can disable that property in the IDE and it
will not appear anymore. Not sure if that is what you mean but
give it a shot.
Maybe what I need is to create my own custom edit field if that is
the case how would I go about doing that?
A *ton* of work... not even something that I would want to do
unless I had to.
