There may be programatic ways around the problem, but not from a "normal"
user's perspective.

        bash: fcntl: command not found

and unmount is typically a process of dragging the icon to the trash in OSX
or telling Windows that you want to unplug the device.

However, I suspect we are getting way off topic here. ;)
