Oggetto: [OSGeo-Announce] deegree Graduates OSGeo Incubation
Data: Sun, 07 Feb 2010 20:05:05 -0500

OSGeo is pleased to announce that the deegree project has graduated from the
incubation process and is now a full fledged OSGeo project with Markus
Schneider appointed as project representative (Vice President, deegree).

deegree is a Java Framework offering the main building blocks for Spatial Data
Infrastructures. Its entire architecture is developed using standards of the
Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and ISO/TC 211 (ISO Technical Committee 211
-- Geographic Information/Geomatics). deegree encompasses OGC Web Services
as well as Clients and security components.

Graduating incubation includes requirements for open community operation, a
responsible project governance model, code provenance and license verification
and general good project operation. Graduating incubation is the OSGeo seal of
approval for a project and gives potential users of the project added
confidence in the viability and safety of the project.
