Really. I have plans to work my gfx project with Mesa-GGI. I plan to work
with a ATI 128 video card since I have all the specs for these cards.
The gfx project is a project started by me and Mike Mackovitch, someone
that just left his job at SGI. Mike Mackovitch saw my post about the flaws
of DRI and agreed with me. So he contacted me and we decicided to make a
open source true direct rendering engine for linux. The web site still
isn't up yet. I haven't fileld the CVS yet since teh code I have is
broken. I should send it up anyways. I too will like to see OpenGL without
X.
I have a mailing list which you can joined at
http://lists.sourceforge.net/mailman/listinfo/linuxgfx-dev
