My understanding of select is that it still blocks, it just multiplexes the blocking.
Let me rephrase my question. When I open a normal file I can pass as a flag O_ASYNC.
This will cause a SIGIO to be sent to the process whenever input becomes possible on
the file descriptor. Is this possible with a gii device?
