Hi folks !

(seems I'm having EMail trouble BTW - I'm getting my stuff in strange
intervals ... I'll probably have to go over to the computing center
again, carrying a big debugging tool ... something like a twohanded
 battle axe ... :-).

I have just played around with RPM a little, and built binary packages
for LibGII and LibGGI for x86. I think this is another important step for
a release and up to then for giving users a simple way to get a working
copy of LibGGI easily.

The packages are available from

ftp://ftp.ggi-project.org/pub/ggi/contrib/redhat/snap20001028becka/

and are built to install to /usr/local/ (!) by default to avoid messing with
the more important /usr/ directories, until I am satisfied with the RPMs.

Could someone who knows a bit more about RPM check, if I did that right ?

When everything works fine, I'll change the prefix to /usr and add a
directory "packaging" to the library bases, containing the .spec files
(anyone to make debian specs ?) so that future updates are a matter of a
few minutes.

BTW: Marcus - should I try to build XGGI RPMS as well ?

CU, ANdy
